Eighteen Wright city First Graders along with their teacher Mrs. Bishop, Principal Mr. Partridge and Superintendent Mr. Hawkins

enjoyed a fun day of hands-on and educational activities at the Governor's Annual Christmas Tree Lightning Ceremony at the Capital.

Mr. Hawkins said they were one of 26 classes from around the state to participate in the event.  Students decorated their assigned tree with hand made decorations

following a Native American Cultural Theme.  Observing their tree were State Superintendent of Education Joy Hofmeister and State Rep. Johnny Tadlock.

Students also enjoyed a show performed by Darci Lynne of Edmond who just won America's Got Talent.

Partridge and Hawkins both veteran administrators at Wright City said it was the first time the school had been invited to the ceremony.

Tadlock also took students to the House Chamber where laws are debated.
